Blog: Disney bought Star Wars - My LATE views

I know the news has been out for a while now, but after carefully composing my thoughts, I figured it would be worth sharing my two cents on the matter.

Like everyone else in the world, the news that Disney have bought Lucasfilm and is releasing another Star Wars film shocked me. Naturally, people are forming their own opinions and have either fallen into one of three camps:

*"I cannot wait to see another Star Wars film in 2015"
*"I'm optimistic, but i'll wait and see"
*"I hated the prequels, so I think it's fair to lump this in with them".

While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, the last faction of people mainly get annoying because a large amount of them now think that Disney will ruin Star Wars now, making it all kiddy friendly and alienating the fans, which is utterly ridiculous.

The same overreaction was had when Disney bought Marvel, and did it happen? No.

Iron Mouse never happened, so why should we worry?
Disney left Marvel to their own devices and apart from the cancellation of The Spectacular Spider-Man, things could not have gone better. Proof enough of this is Joss Whedon and James Gunn helming Marvel films, so why don't the people hear Lucasfilms decisions on directors, casting and storylines before they condemn this film to the same abyss where Jar Jar and Midichlorians reside?
Lest we never forget the mistakes made
